For Lori Willis, real estate is more than just a career—it’s a passion and a purpose that she has been nurturing since 2007. As a top producer with Long & Foster, Lori’s journey from a financial advisor to a powerhouse REALTOR® to her unwavering dedication and love for the industry. With a career volume nearing $50 million and over $7 million in sales last year, Lori’s success story is one of perseverance, passion, and a deep-rooted connection to her community. It took hustle and heart to get to where she is today.
FROM FINANCE TO REAL ESTATE
Before diving into real estate, Lori had a flourishing career as a financial advisor, working with Legg Mason and Raymond James. “I am still a market junkie, following the markets is my pastime” she reflects. But her passion for the real estate market was deeply influenced by her father, who was a REALTOR in their area and a founder of the Kent County Board of Realtors, now the Bay Area Board of Realtors. “In so many ways, my dad was my inspiration,” Lori smiles. “Born in 1910, he founded his real estate office in 1944 and practiced until 1995. I still have some of his vintage paperwork from those early days. Working for my dad while in school was my first experience in real estate.”
ROOTS AND RESILIENCE

Lori’s roots are deeply embedded in the Eastern Shore, where her family has a storied history dating back to the 1680s in Queen Anne’s and Caroline counties. Both her parents were from farming families, with her father being one of the first real estate agents and appraisers in the area, even assisting with the Bay Bridge appraisal. Lori’s educational journey took her to the University of Delaware, where she earned a degree in English Literature. During college, she worked for MBNA, a great company that laid the foundation for her career in business.
Lori’s transition into real estate was driven by a desire to pursue her passion and follow in her father’s footsteps. “I bought my first business in 1999, which I still own and have since developed another multimillion- dollar business unrelated to real estate,” she explains. “Success in business is what drives me. I try to meet adversities head on, never taking no for an answer!” Despite challenges, Lori’s resilience shone through. With determination and support, she’s turned those challenges into opportunities.
“Growing my real estate business has been measured, but consistent. I have always believed despite the competition there is always room for the best, so with each deal I try to learn and be a better agent. I don’t accept mediocrity and I am always working on myself.” A go-getter, Lori knows how to move deals to the closing table, cater to her clients, and exceed their expectations.
FARMS, FAMILY AND FUN
Today, Lori’s focus in real estate is farms, particularly equestrian properties. “I love selling farms. There is nothing like walking a soybean field or exploring a hunting property. However, I especially love selling horse farms, because I’m an equestrian myself.” Lori owns four horses and runs a small horse farm in Centreville, where she practices dressage and competes occasionally. Her deep connection to the land and her love for horses have made her a sought-after expert in this niche market.

“Preserving the Eastern Shore is close to my heart,” she adds. Among her notable achievements, Lori recently sold River’s Edge West in Chesapeake City, a significant milestone in her career.
When not working, which is rare, it’s all about family. Lori’s immediate family includes her husband, Mike Tucker, and her stepdaughter Abby. Her mother lives on a nearby farm with her sister, brother- in-law and nephew. Lori and Mike share a passion for building businesses, playing golf, and boating together. Outside of real estate and equestrian activities, Lori enjoys tennis, running and ice skating.
Lori serves a large area, encompassing both the Western and Eastern Shores including Delaware, with her emphasis and heart in Queen Anne’s and Kent counties.
PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF
Lori’s journey serves as a shining example of how passion, persistence, and purpose pay off. Transitioning from a financial advisor to a Top Producer, she delights in turning dreams into reality, one home at a time.
